I can't see the ceiling, the red lanterns hanging from the rafters obscure my clear sight, but the red shimmers, the wind is coming through the open temple door, and this hall is narrow, I see the sunlight at the end of this hall, glimpses of the out of doors in-between the red lanterns, is this a house of geishas, concubines on the high lord, red lantern celebration, the candles light, in their paper boats, carefully launched in the pond, between the trees is the light from the town hall, the full moon over head and that wind which makes the chimes vibrate, her shoes are made of wood, and she clops on the pavement, this is not how a courtesan should sound, she should be in slippers ballet shoes, pirouetting on the arm of her escort, oh I’m tired of this, begin some where else, the trees near the field are bent down, are they heavy laden with fruit, or the sagging implications of too many monsoons, I don't know, there are elephants being lead to the pond, the spiraling building in the distance, between the jungle trees, that's the reason for sag, they are opulent these leaves, fans perfect for giants perhaps planted by aliens, a past race, oh lord, we are going off on a mad tangent, oh why not, the women are embroidering in the temple, gold finery this is to end up on the altar and perhaps the back of one of those patient elephants, the monks shuffle past, single file down the narrow hall, the moon peeks between the cluster of leaves, branches and clouds white clouds in a dark sky is off-putting, a delightful contradiction, the statue of the woman, her clothes, falling off her hips like a long sash, the man in his water buffalo pants, pulling at the yoke of the oxen in the rice field, his straw hat is conical, almost a three dimensional triangle, hard to see his face as he keeps bending down, look up man, I know you're working, but look up at the sky, and the top of the trees where the cranes venture, flying high, ancient hieroglyphics come alive in this bird...
