Colosseum...

I find myself sitting on some narrow wide steps, in the sunlight, holding a pair of long scissors in my hands, basking in the sunlight, the temple bell has struck, except this isn't a temple, this place is a relic of ages long gone, the shadow of the dome to the left makes me think Christian Scientists, Islamic, somewhere in Europe, I see the soldiers in their helmets and skirts like iron tresses, yes, this is ROMAN, okay, and I am very still, they won't talk to me if I stay still, besides they are to the side down at the end of the steps, nowadays this is a place where cats linger, and the ladies come in their stiletto heels to leave them food, bicycles in the street, a harsh language of dickering at the farmers market, I don't like this place so much but I do like those steps and the feeling of perpetual sunset, sunrise, take a deep breath and linger elsewhere in the bower near the old castle, the doorway an archway, looking up at the castle wall at the dried network, lace of old flowers plants, are there any blossoms, still, the wall curves around the patio, it is a large oval, the steps down to the grass are broken steps, but they keep that grass trimmed, people are so obsessive about beating back nature, i.e., cutting grass, hah, there is a croquet game taking place, are they using storks or cranes, ala Alice through the Looking Glass? :) Kidding!
