15 minute meditation journal

I was sitting in my couch high off THC and practiced mindfulness in the present moment; aware of sounds and images, and seeing them just by what they are, inputs to our brain. I started feeling they were signals like the radio that can be tuned in more precisely and I noticed the non-self mark of existence.

After doing that for a while, I closed my eyes and, without properly attaining concentration, jumped directly into letting go of everything and focusing on the bodily sensations. A pleasurable one came in and, as I payed attention to them, I started feeling different sensations like heat or pressure throughout my body. As I focused more on them their strength increased and I became excited about it which made it all disappear. Frustrated, I opened my eyes and stopped the exercise.

Thanks for being honest about the THC. I'm currently in a place where it's been voted legal for recreational usage. I look forward to seeing a massive reduction in the arrests of non-violent offendors in victimless "crimes." It's good that you took the opportunity to practice mindfulness, great stuff.

I too think legalization will help reduce unfair arrests and will also do good for the economy. I enjoy using but I have also learned that my meditation goes better during the periods when I'm not.
